Olive Hill, KY–Day 1

Carter Cave State Park– 458 miles, 29.6 gallons of fuel and just over 8 hours after leaving DC we’ve arrived and settled into our first night’s stop–and Kristen rolled her eyes at how boring this post is already. She has a point, of course. Setting up the Airstream was considerably faster and more efficient than our first attempt a few weeks ago. And the chili for dinner was delicious. Rain didn’t stop us from walking the dogs, but it’s kept us in for the night.Ā  Sixteen feet of Lulu isn’t much but I’m glad we have it when all of us are inside. Sleeping dogs, Raymond Chandler’s The Big Sleep playing on audio, and a good IPA from Richmond, VA makes me happy. It’s a good start to what I’m certain will be an excellent adventure–in Lulu.

Miss you Sweet Girl.

P.S. Kristen is driving in the morning. Stay tuned.

P.P.S Nationals lead 4-1 on a Murphy grand slam. That guy kills the Mets.
