While I am out and about touring this fine country of ours, I encounter many signs. I came across this one which is the translation of an old Polish saying. Not my circus. Not my monkeys. It translates as “not my problem.” I was struck by this because I started to think about all the things people try to make my problem, and of course, I oblige them. I looked down my to do list and realized many of things on it were put there by people trying to give me their circus. There’s probably a fair bit of psychology that goes into why I accepted a circus. All I know is this: before I add something onto my to do list, I am going to ask, “Is this my circus?”
